Probably circumglobal in distribution between 34°S and 48°S. Southern Ocean: 49°-50°S, 70°-71°E.

Max length : 6.1 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 5182)
High-oceanic and mesopelagic; found below 140 m at night (Ref. 4066). Encountered in the stomach contents of Champsocephalus gunnari.
