Enters flooded fields (Ref. 12975). Frequently overlooked and rarely recorded due to its rather nondescript appearance and its occurrence along the very bottom of the river over sand substrate. Always found in flowing water and little is known about the migratory habitats of this species. All specimens examined had mouths full of sand which is strained for detritus, diatoms, algae, worms and other organisms.
