It was collected with Apistogramma resticulosa, Axelrodia lindeae, Axelrodia stigmatias, Hemigrammus bellottii, Hyphessobrycon aff. sweglesi, Leporinus sp., Nannostomus trifasciatus, Odontocharacidium aphanes and Satanoperca sp. Three of these species are considered miniature: the characids Axelrodia lindeae, A. stigmatias and the crenuchid Odontocharacidium aphanes. This species and the three miniatures are mostly transparent, and with the larger Hemigrammus bellottii which has a predominantly translucent body in life, an ‘almost invisible league’ for the Rio Negro was proposed by Carvalho et al., 2006 (Ref. 128847 in Ref. 128819).
