Spine dorsali (totale): 25 - 28; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 2-4; Spine anali 2; Raggi anali molli: 14 - 18. Reddish, green or brown in color; dorsal and anal fin membranes with 9 and 6 transparent windows respectively (Ref. 5496). Juveniles reddish with silvery patches on sides (Ref. 5496).
Inhabits intertidal pools. Gravid females bloated.
