North America: found only in Duck River system (Tennessee River drainage) in western central Tennessee, USA.

Occurs in clear, fast rocky riffles of small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on hydropsychid caddis larvae, midge larvae, mayfly nymphs, blackfly larvae, and a wide variety of additional aquatic insect immatures plus a few snails (Ref. 10294).
