Duri punggung (Keseluruhan (total)): 7; duri punggung lunak (Keseluruhan (total)): 9-10; Duri dubur 1; Sirip dubur lunak: 9 - 11. Body grey to brown in color, with white and brown spots on back; thin white bars on side; 3-6 elongate dark brown spots on midside; males with black spot on rear of 1st dorsal fin (Ref. 2798).
An estuary sand dweller occurring in tidal parts of rivers (Ref. 4343).
