Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 4 - 7; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 12 - 17; Anale stekels: 1; Anale zachte stralen: 21 - 28. Translucent with silver lower head and band along side to silver spot on caudal peduncle and viscera enclosed in silver.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: compressed.
Found in large numbers in boiling surf, close to shoreline. Occurs in large aggregations (Ref. 90102).
