Các vây lưng mềm (tổng cộng): 8-11; Tia mềm vây hậu môn: 12 - 16. Distinguished from the other species by the combination of the following characters: second dorsal fin and anal fin posteriorly rounded, 11-14 predorsal scales, 31-34 scales in longitudinal row; anal fin with 12-15 branched rays (Ref 7304).
Ref. 7304 reports the re-diagnosis of T. celebensis.
